Blue Ridge Hospice is Hiring a VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR Near Frederick, VA
Essential Job Functions
- Utilize intake and interview protocol for potential volunteers to ensure the best match between the skills, qualifications, and interests of the volunteers and the needs of the organization.
- Assists with the facilitation of volunteer training/orientation programs.
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings to represent and report volunteer assignments.
- Tracks volunteer hours for reporting.
- Updates volunteer information for all volunteers.
- Assists in preparations of volunteer updates, visitations reports and compliance issues.
- Assists volunteers with the use of EMR and other documentation processes.
- Assists with recruitment, retention, and assignment of volunteers.
- Assists with planning and set up of volunteer activities and Hospice activities where volunteers are utilized.
- Serves as backup to generating monthly and quarterly statistical reports as needed.
- Assists with the monitoring and support of all volunteers with appropriate input from other members of the interdisciplinary team or assigned manager.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, show initiative and anticipate needs.
- Ability to work independently, exercising a high degree of discretion and sound judgement.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop implement, and interpret programs, goals and objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality volunteer experience and maintaining a sound operation.
- Provides supervision of volunteers through review of documentation, observing communication/interaction with the IDT and any feedback received concerning a volunteer’s performance.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively.
- Generates and/or recognizes creative solutions in work related situations.
- Serves as backup to Volunteer Services team members as needed.
- Model highest standards of conduct and ethical behavior adopting strong position for corporate compliance.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and in good working order. Must be willing to travel the entire service area.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum two years’ experience in related field; hospice or health care experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, associate degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, and Volunteer Software.
- Interacts frequently with individuals providing excellent customer service and support.
- Experience working for a foundation or not for profit organization, preferred.
