FUNCTION

Under the direction of the President, responsible for all Accounting and Finance Management for all companies, and supervision of Cost Accounting, General Accounting, and Purchasing. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as a Controller in a manufacturing environment. The Controller will handle high-level accounting, and managerial accounting, and oversee the financial activities of the company. The Controller will produce accurate and thorough financial reports for senior management to help improve our operational efficiency and aid our continued growth. This will include the use of Lean Accounting reporting and analysis. As head of the Accounting Department, the Controller will manage and cover all aspects of accounting from payroll to tax compliance, and employee benefits.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who enjoys methodically analyzing and scrutinizing processes to find efficiencies. Also is well-versed in offering senior management budgeting/forecasting guidance based on financial reporting and business trends.

1. Perform or delegate performance of all cost accounting functions, general accounting functions, and Purchasing including:

· Cash management.

· Bank relations.

· Coordination of annual audit

2. Maintain, control costs, and improve P&C insurance coverage.

3. Maintain, control costs, and help select and improve 401K programs.

4. Maintain, control costs, and help select health insurance coverages.

5. Maintain general ledgers for six companies.

6. Maintain 5 different cost systems: LIFO, FIFO, Average costs, Standard Costs, and two Job Cost methods.

7. Develop annual plan process and reporting.

8. Institute monthly general ledger control analysis.

9. Create revised financial statements to report on functional performance.

10. Monitor manufacturing departmental performance reporting statements.

11. Maintain Leased Die financial reporting methods and procedures.

12. Maintain Plant and Product Line productivity reports.

13. Purchasing

· Directly supervise the Buyer.

· Review monthly purchases to look for opportunities to reduce expenditures.

· Approve purchases of office supplies.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

1. Back up for General Accounting Supervisor.

2. Perform special projects or other duties as assigned by the company president.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience as a Controller.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in finance, general, and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • A Masters in Accounting and or a CPA or CMA is preferred but not required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel. Will use Sage 300, AS400, Excel, Fixed Assets CS, and Paylocity.

Pay: From $7.25 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
