LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join our team.

Location: Fort Stewart, GA

Background:

Under the Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) and Guardian Angel (GA) Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) initiative, there is a critical need for an Exercise Physiologist (EP) to enhance the combat capability and readiness of TACP (19ZXB - Air Liaison Officer (ALO) and 1C4 - TACP Specialist), Special Warfare Mission Support (SWMS), and Guardian Angel (19ZXB - Combat Rescue Officer (CRO) and 1Z1 – Pararescue Jumpers (PJs)) operators. The role will focus on improving readiness and rehabilitation to support mission success across various military operations.

Scope of Work:

The Exercise Physiologist will provide strength and conditioning services aimed at reducing injury rates, facilitating rapid return to duty, and maintaining optimal physical performance and readiness for personnel in, Operational Support Squadron (OSS), Air Support Operations Group (ASOG), and Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initial Evaluation and Program Design: Perform initial evaluations and design individualized training programs for all TACP operators within 90 days of contract start, ensuring a safe and expeditious return to training post-injury.
  • Physical Training Programs: Develop and implement physical training programs to enhance functional movement, energy system development, strength, endurance, mobility, and power.
  • Monitoring and Adjustments: Design and monitor physical training programs for all TACP operators, including those on temporary duty (TDY) or deployed, and conduct squadron-wide training sessions.
  • Performance Testing: Execute performance testing, including the TACP Fitness Test annually and Functional Movement Screening biannually.
  • Injury Prevention and Nutrition: Provide guidance on physical conditioning, injury prevention, and collaborate with dieticians for nutritional education and evaluation.
  • Reporting and Communication: Regularly report to the COR regarding operator scheduling, training, deployment cycles, and submit Human Performance and Pre-habilitative trending metrics.
  • Administrative Duties: Attend staff meetings, manage physical conditioning/rehabilitation supply inventories, and maintain training and equipment records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Duties:

  • Facility Oversight: Advise on the layout and operational procedures of human performance facilities, ensuring the safe use of equipment.
  • Documentation: If directed, assist in documenting care in the Military’s Electronic Health Record, MHS GENESIS.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Assist in developing facility SOPs, guidelines, and exercise protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience working with elite athlete populations, preferably with Special Operation Personnel or similar high-performance teams. Five years preferred.
  • Certifications: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by NSCA, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Level 1, and current CPR/AED certification.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of meeting the physical demands of training with military personnel, including the ability to handle weights up to 55 pounds and operate in austere environments.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Working Conditions:

  • The role requires working on site during normal duty hours and supporting occasional surge operations. The Exercise Physiologist is not required to work on federal holidays but must be available for surge operations typically amounting to 10 hours a month.
