VDL Industries Gainesville LLC is company number 99 in the VDL Groep and the first manufacturing facility in the U.S. Operations are from a state-of-the-art, 150,000 square foot facility located in Flowery Branch, Georgia. The VDL Industries facility consists of the following work centers: laser cutting, metal forming, welding (MIG/TIG), electronic assembly/general assembly, sawing, drilling, shipping, storage opportunities, and Quality Control. VDL Industries utilizes a dedicated area for stainless steel welding and assembly operations.

Job Summary

The Press Brake (Punch Press) operator uses a press break to bend and shape metal sheets per work orders instructions and blueprint specifications.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or GED

· Manufacturing experience required

· 3 year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred

· Technical certification or accreditation is preferred

· Blueprint reading required

Responsibilities

· Operators a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.

· Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.

· Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.

· Measures and aligns materials to be used.

· Inspects production, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specification.

· Performs routine maintenance on the press brake

· Maintains a clean work area.

· All employees are responsible for reporting environmental risks or hazards in the workplace.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

· Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls.

· Ability to follow instructions

· Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans, work instructions, and blueprints.

· Basic computer and math skills

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

· Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials

· Physically able to operate the press brake.
