The Discover Zone Preschool and Childcare Center, a ministry of Florence Christian Church, is a Christian faith-based non-profit that serves families with value-based educational childcare. Florence Christian Church welcomes all including the LGBTQ community and other religions.

Responsibilities for our Teachers:

As a Discover ZoneTeacher you will be responsible for providing care, love, safety, and education to children ranging from the ages of infants to Pre-K. You will be responsible for planning and implementing the provided curriculums and education for the children as well as activities and opportunities that encourage healthy growth, curiosity, and problem-solving appropriate to the development levels and learning styles of all children in your care. While managing a busy classroom each teacher will be expected to collaborate with other teachers, instructors, and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment by actively participating in staff training and team-building opportunities.

Qualifications for our Teachers:

• Meet all state requirements for employment including background checks, 15 training courses annually, health and safety tests, annual evaluation and professional development, and any additional eligibility requirements.

• Be a team player contributing to a positive work environment including a positive and calm demeanor.

• Be professional in manner and appearance.

• Courteous and tactful with parents, visitors, church members, volunteers, and employees.

• Be an able and willing member of the Discover Zone and church staff team.

• A willingness and desire to improve your skills through training and coaching.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required. CDA or higher education preferred.

• Experience working directly with children (in a childcare or classroom setting is preferred)

• Able to meet all regulatory and new hire requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $29.00 per hour
