Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Correctional Officer at the Hancock County Sheriff's Office in Findlay, OH. The Correctional Officer will be responsible for maintaining the security and safety of inmates within the correctional facility. Day-to-day tasks may include but not limited to overseeing inmate activities, report writing, answer phones and control facility doors, perform search of persons leaving and reentering the facility for contraband, conducting security checks, enforcing rules and regulations, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Criminal Justice procedures and regulations
  • Physical Security and Emergency Response skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • No felony convictions
  • Applicants subject to drug screen
  • Willing to work holidays and weekends
