Responsibilities include:
- Review project specifications, and attend pre-bid meetings if required, etc. to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
- Develop options and recommend solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.
- Establish and maintain positive customer relationships and set deadlines for the completion of work.
- Maintain a daily critical jobs schedule and keep shop management informed.
- Assist other PMs with awarded contracts and projects.
- Other duties as required.
- 3 years of experience managing projects from award to completion.
- Some experience estimating, pricing change orders, and facilitating the resolution of contractual issues. Proficient in reading engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings, and specifications.
- Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and processes.
- Understand the steel fabrication process, steel grades, fastener grades, connection requirements, coating types, fabrication procedures, and installation requirements.
- Strong computer literacy and use of MS Office programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or construction management or a combination of education and experience.
