MarconMetal fab. is Hiring a Steel Estimator Near Ferndale, WA

Marcon Metal USA (www.marconmetal.com) is growing and hiring an experienced Steel Estimator to join our team based in Ferndale, WA. The Steel Estimator will estimate steel projects and develop clear and detailed project scope for the customer. develop a detailed project scope for the customer and assist in preparation of detailed estimates and backup documentation for review. Responsibilities include:

· Review project specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

· Prepare detailed estimates and backup documentation for review.

· Solicit project specific proposals from material suppliers.

· Develop options and recommend best value solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.

· Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of material and processes required.

· Assist PMs with awarded contracts and projects.

· Other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

· 5 years experience estimating costs, preparing schedules, and preparing competitive tenders.

· Understand steel fabrication process, steel grades, fastener grades, connection requirements, coating types, fabrication procedures and installation requirements.

· Proficient performing math and weight calculations.

· Proficient reading engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings, and specifications.

· Some experience managing projects from award to completion would be an asset.

· Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management or combination of education and experience.
