Overview:
Under general supervision the Correctional Counselor 2 will function as a member of a team providing services to an assigned caseload of juveniles. The work of the Correctional Counselor 2 will consist of full-performance level work by providing a variety of counseling, psychological, and cognitive services for the juveniles. Areas of responsibilities will include individual and/or group counseling, diagnostic testing and evaluation, substance abuse counseling, implementation of treatment programs, guidance, administration, and evaluation of need and/or risk assessments, family counseling, acting as a role model, recommendation of treatment programs to assist the juveniles in controlling behavior and overcoming problems, as well as general guidance of juveniles. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Training: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling and guidance, education, therapeutic recreation or closely related field.
