Job Description:

Position: Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)

Location: 700 S. Clinton Ave, Trenton, NJ 08611

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients; substance abuse history,

treatment needs, and recovery goals.

2. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-

based practices and therapeutic interventions.

3. Provide counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and families affected by

substance abuse, utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and

other modalities.

4. Monitor clients; progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting interventions as needed

to promote positive outcomes.

5. Facilitate psychoeducational groups on topics related to addiction, recovery skills, relapse

prevention, and coping strategies.

6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, social

workers, and other treatment professionals, to ensure coordinated care.

7. Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, including progress notes,

treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

8. Stay up of current research, best practices, and regulatory requirements in the field of

substance abuse treatment, participating in continuing education and professional development activities.

9. Provide crisis intervention and support services to clients experiencing acute distress or

relapse.

10. Advocate for clients; needs and rights within the healthcare system, community resources,

and legal proceedings as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.

2. Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of

3. Minimum of 3 years of experience providing substance abuse counseling and treatment

services, preferably in a clinical setting.

4. Demonstrated knowledge of addiction theory, assessment tools, and evidence-based

treatment modalities.

5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse

backgrounds.

6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

7. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

8. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software

applications.

9. Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional integrity.

10. CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
