The Senior Accountant provides general accounting functions and manages Premium Loan financing.

• Prepare accounting-related entries related to various source reports, journals and registers.
• Perform the processing of monthly accruals including but not limited to: amortization of prepaid expenses, setup and monthly maintenance of fixed assets, including depreciation and the recording of adjusting and reclassification entries.
• Prepare producer commissions analysis, payables reconciliation and payments as necessary.
• Reconcile and record payroll for the branch.
• Work with local agency leadership and other branch/region accountants to make sure all intercompany account balances are in balance and consolidate/zero out.
• Preparation or review account reconciliations of branchs balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations.
• Keep accounts receivable current and avoid bad debts as per accounting policies. Working with Operations, collection responsibilities may also involve supporting premium financing of clients premiums.
• Monitor and manage cash flow and bank account balances. Perform Trust compliance calculations and transfer commissions to operating at least once per month based upon your calculations.
• Assists with preparation of annual branch budget or other financial forecasting.
• Analyze accounting problems and arrive at workable solutions. Evaluate information, identify key issues that need to be addressed and develop courses of action that effectively address the issue at hand. This requires making sound, common-sense decisions.
• Responsible for ensuring that the direct bill reconciliation data entry into production is entered in a timely and accurate manner.
• Manage assigned projects by prioritizing work to meet established deadlines and ensuring that accounting objectives are accomplished while keeping the Controller informed of project status and issues identified.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiencies and drive projects to completion.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, data analysis, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a well-organized financial data and document warehouse.
• Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contact and group meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficiency.
• Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
• When applicable, back up to the Accounting Specialist: process vendor payables, reconcile direct bill production into accounting system, process deposits, reconcile insurance carrier statements, process carrier payable checks.

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred
• 3 years experience, or combination of education/experience
