About the role:The Accounting Specialist will perform a range of accounting and financial duties to support the financial functions of the company. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads computer files or gathers records such as purchase orders, sales tickets, and charge slips, to compile needed data.
- Enters information into a computer or computes amounts due.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.
- Investigate problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers. Extracts general ledger information. Reconciles bank statements.
- Posts transactions to accounting records such as work sheets, ledger, or computer files.
- Reviews, balances, interprets computer reports, and makes corrections.
- Conduct audits for manually written or online data.
- Corrects errors or lists discrepancies for adjustment.
- Exporting data to Quickbooks
- Reconcile payables due and process invoices from vendors
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should know QuickBooks Cloud Accounting software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Office Word Processing software.
