Job Description: Our company is seeking a highly experienced Lead Captain with expertise in weather forecasting and interpretation and knowledge of Kauai's ocean conditions. The ideal candidate should also have a strong background in leadership and management. As Lead Captain, you would ensure that our vessels maintain a superior appearance and comply with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you would oversee and manage the captain and crew members to maintain a productive and fulfilling workplace while ensuring that company standards and policies are followed.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and navigate boats by all safety regulations and guidelines.
• Supervise the training of new captains and crew members.
• Maintain high standards for boat appearance and upkeep.
• Lead and manage the boat crew, delegate tasks, and ensure effective collaboration.
• Provide excellent customer service by meeting and exceeding guests' needs.
• Possess the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs on the boat and address any mechanical issues.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between various departments within the company.
• Ensure that all safety equipment on board is in good working condition.

Requirements:

• Available to work flexible hours, including weekends & holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies while maintaining excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Boat Captain.
• Proven experience in operating and navigating boats safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and laws governing boat operations.
• US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential 50 GRT
• FCC Radio Operator
• TWIC Card
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Compensation: Starting at $40/hr
