The Trade Compliance Specialist will support is the daily management of the FTZ operation to include inventory control, inventory layer management, determination of country of origin & HTS, reconciliation, audits, and recordkeeping, all related to merchandise admitted and withdrawn from the Foreign Trade Zone & other duties as required by the supervisor. Support saving initiatives and comply with valuation processes. Assures adherence to US Customs and other US regulatory agency requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· 35% - Support in FTZ data transmission & supporting documentation for daily e214 submission, weekly estimate CF3461, CF7501 entries, and CF7512 in-bonds movements.

· 20% - supports in the maintenance of FTZ Inventory Control and Recordkeeping System by maintaining relevant data for inventory balance, admission, estimates, withdrawals, inventory adjustment, that that would require to investigate and take action.

· 20% - Support Self-auditing FTZ transactions and complying with CBP recordkeeping and FTZ Board requirements by validating Foreign Trade Zone data against actual documentation as needed to ensure accuracy of integration and information.

· 20% COO and HTS determination for new items admitted into the zone that will create/affect inventory layers, tariff changes and valuation.

· 5% - Supports Customs and Border Protection and CTPAT Program Requirement, Customs audits, inspections of facility and on-site training as required.

Education and Experience Profile

· B.A./B.S. in Transportation, Logistics, International Business is beneficial

· 2 years of experience in real work import environment or foreign-trade zone

· Knowledge of e214, estimates, 7501, 7512 in-bonds

· Understanding of HTSUS merchandise classification, and import transactions

· Excellent attention to detail

· Qualified candidate must pass a federal background check

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel and/or Access

Required Skills

· Experience with ERP systems such as QAD, SAP is preferred

· Knowledge of Customs compliance regulations is preferred

· Knowledge of e214, estimates, 7501, 7512 in-bonds & understanding of HTSUS merchandise classification, and import transactions

· Have a working knowledge of logistics activities including import activities

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Self-motivated, capable of being self-learner and working alone.

· Experience in Database management

Work Environment:

Working conditions are normal for a distribution center/office environment and present as FTZ Shipping and Receiving Requires.
