WORKFORCE RESOURCE is Hiring a Job Placement Specialist Near Eau Claire, WI

General Description: Position is responsible for working with individuals to seek and obtain employment, guiding clients through employment process. Provide work readiness training and assistance. May assist in vocational assessment, career goal identification, career plan development, work readiness and job search training under the supervision of professional staff. May observe program participants, interact with supervisors to gain insight into participant work behaviors and provide supervision of worker(s).

Serving Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or related experience (2-4 years) in social work or human services. Excellent interpersonal, team work, problem solving, communication and computer skills, positive work ethic, ability to maintain accurate, neat, and complete records required. Knowledge and experience in vocational assessment, particularly with persons with disabilities, career planning, work readiness and job search training desirable. Job requires a valid driver’s license and access to dependable transportation.

Key Roles:

I. May assist professional staff in provision of case management services in program and systems design that support vocational training, workforce development, job readiness assessment, training opportunities and employment outcomes.

II. Identifies and establishing appropriate work and training sites.

A. Conduct community outreach as advocate to identify appropriate work and training activities for persons with disabilities and impart advocacy education to employers and other members of community with cooperative working relationships

B. Review work and training site applications

C. Conduct site visits to determine appropriateness for individual or group needs

D. Develop constructive work/training site agreements to facilitate program activities

E. Provide orientation to work/training site supervisors.

III. Monitors work and training sites to:

A. Observe and record participant activities and gauge participant work readiness

B. Obtain supervisor evaluations of work behaviors/performance

C. Assure compliance with all program regulations, labor laws, health and safety requirements.

D. Assure adequacy and appropriateness of assigned work and supervision.

E. Identify any compliance deficiencies and recommend corrective action as needed.

IV. Provides direct supervision of group or individual work/training activities as assigned.

V. Assists with vocational assessment, career planning, work readiness and job search training

A. Develop written job placement plans with individual candidates with barriers that identifies specific employment outcomes, strategies and job seeking activities including job analysis, training needs and any appropriate recommendations.
B. Assist in job seeking activities such as completing applications, preparing resumes, mock interviews, contacting and following up with prospective employers and utilizing employment strategies to achieve employment goals and objectives.

VI. Maintain neat and accurate records and files

VII. Participates in multi-disciplinary Workforce Development Team

Flexible work location - Must live within region to serve customer.
