DescriptionWe are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Dispatcher in our East Rochester, New York location. This role lies within the service industry, specifically within the realm of third-party logistics. As a Dispatcher, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers who wish to ship items, and it will be your responsibility to gather necessary information and coordinate with the appropriate carrier.
Responsibilities
  • Handle incoming calls from customers wishing to ship items, providing them with excellent customer service.
  • Gather necessary shipping information from customers, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate carrier to arrange pickup of the freight.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and requests simultaneously.
  • Utilize dispatching and logistics skills to ensure efficient and timely delivery of freight.
  • Maintain strong and professional relationships with customers and carriers.
  • Monitor and track shipments, providing customers with updates as needed.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the shipping process.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to optimize operations and customer service.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to shipping and customer service.
Requirements
  • Must have prior experience in dispatching or similar roles within the service industry.
  • Proficiency in using dispatching software is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of logistics and supply chain management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
