Gallagher Fluid Seals is Hiring a Quality Engineer Near East Longmeadow, MA
Description of Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures to ensure adherence to specifications and standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality control processes, inspection results, and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer-specific requirements, such as ISO 9001
- Lead or contribute to corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives, utilizing root cause analysis tools
- Implement best practices for quality assurance and lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement in product quality and operational efficiency.
- Perform supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contractual agreements.
- Work closely with the customer service and sales teams to address quality-related inquiries, complaints, or non-conformances from customers.
- Participate in customer audits and visits, demonstrating our commitment to quality excellence and responsiveness to customer feedback.
- Assist the Quality Manager with audits – ISO, internal/external, supplier, customer
- Assists in maintaining the established quality system under any requirements that affect the center and help ensure that all operations in the center are in compliance with the Company’s Quality Program.
- Observe manufacturing, analyze the techniques, investigate problems and propose alternative methodologies for process resolutions or enhancements
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Experience in quality engineering or related roles within the manufacturing industry, preferably in fluid seals or related components.
- Understanding of quality management principles, statistical analysis techniques, and quality control tools
- Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001) and experience implementing quality management systems.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality products and services.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience and understanding of GD&T
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be capable of performing duties independently with minimal supervision and working in a close-knit team setting
