HUMAN RESOURCES SUPPORT SPECIALIST

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $22.50 - $27.00 per hour

POSITION SALARY RANGE: $22.50 - $36.00 per hour

This position is much more than a front desk role; it is the heart of the District Office! In a fast paced, always changing environment, this role holds it all together. Whether answering the phone, assisting in person guests, or responding to email inquiries, the list of to do items is rarely lacking! SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide support to the Human Resources department in all aspects to ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality. Provide a positive guest experience, thorough communication, and lasting relationships with staff and the public.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:

  • Assist with ongoing budget expenditures and adjustments for the department.
  • Assist in the monitoring of applicant and employee Colorado Department of Education licensure.
  • Assist with HR orientations and preparation of materials.
  • Coordinate, plan, and provide necessary logistical support for all meetings as directed.
  • Maintain the volunteer program for the District.
  • Process purchases orders, and submit credit card statements as necessary.
  • District point of contact for access badges for employees and third parties.
  • Support in the development of policies and procedures around the badge process.
  • Coordinate and organize administrative support, clerical tasks, schedules and routine office procedures.
  • Maintain internal and external records retention as dictated by the Colorado Department of Education and state and federal statute, whether online or hard copy.
  • Handle District Office supplies and processes.
  • Effectively coordinate communications by researching and providing requested information or routing to the appropriate party/department via phone, via email, or in person.
  • Organize and facilitate recognition efforts.(Birthday cards, sympathy cards, baby announcements, etc.)
  • Post and maintain web based information for the Human Resources department.
  • Produce and distribute communications as necessary.
  • Release personnel information regarding employment verification, background checks, and legal records according to District policy.
  • Administer bus pass sales for District employees.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing mail for the District.
  • Certify eligibility of employees for various District benefits and programs. (For example: education benefits, discounts, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the life cycle of employee
  • Assist in duties as assigned.

Staff, applicants, university representatives, contracted personnel, advertisers, Colorado Department of Education staff, law enforcement agencies, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, technical support representatives, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Mountain BOCES, US Customs and Immigration services, Insurance companies, medical offices, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), vendors and the public.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years secretarial experience preferred.
  • Efficient working knowledge of computers: keyboarding, database, spreadsheet and word processing.
  • Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently on a multitude of tasks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Successful experience working with confidential information in an office setting.
  • Bilingual preferred, however, not required.
