Essential Job Duties

The Cloud Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure. This role will lead teams of cloud engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud platforms meet the needs of our business and customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cloud technologies, proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.

You will:

  • Manage Cloud Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance. Monitor key metrics and implement processes to proactively identify and address issues.
  • Lead Cloud Engineering Team: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Set clear objectives, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development.
  • Design and Architect Cloud Solutions: Work closely with architecture and engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Develop architecture blueprints, standards, and best practices for cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement Cloud Infrastructure: Lead the implementation of cloud infrastructure projects, including provisioning, configuration, and optimization of cloud resources. Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with software engineering, DevOps, and product teams to integrate cloud infrastructure requirements into development processes. Collaborate on the design and implementation of cloud-native applications and services.
  • Optimize Cost and Performance: Identify opportunities to optimize cloud costs and improve performance. Implement cost management strategies, such as rightsizing instances, leveraging reserved instances, and optimizing storage.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance: Implement security controls and compliance measures to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance. Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field years of experience in managing cloud infrastructure in a production environment.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect are a plus.
