Quality Control Lab Supervisor

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise Quality Control testing of raw material, in-process, and finished product samples to ensure they meet the given specifications in the New Eagle and Donora, PA facilities.
• Supervisor should become familiar with all aspects of Therm-O-Rock’s lab testing, specifications, and paperwork.
• Maintain lab testing requirements for new and existing products, including documentation, sampling, data reporting, and sample retention.
• Maintain raw material, production and quality assurance records for material traceability.
• Create other product labels and production documentation as needed.
• Use of Microsoft Office (including Access, Excel, and Outlook), Microsoft Dynamics, label printing software, and other programs to generate necessary forms, reports, labels, etc.
• Maintain up-to-date contact information and distribution requirements for customers who want Certificate of Analysis data for their products.
• Ensure reporting of results to customers, TOR management and production department as required and in a timely manner.
• Coordinate UPS and FedEx Ground shipments for customers and TOR business.
• Coordinate with sales force to create and send samples to customers, sales personnel, or business partners.
• Coordinate the Therm-O-Rock Customer Complaint system, including designating complaint form followup to the appropriate department management.
• Coordinate equipment and supply purchases with TOR office.
• Other lab or safety related responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
• Weekly travel between the 2 TOR locations is required.

Essential skills:

• Maintain a safety-first attitude, especially in the laboratory and while in the production department.
• Knowledge of good laboratory practices, sampling procedures, and recordkeeping.
• Ability to directly supervise lab employees in separate plants.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Familiarity with dry and wet sieve analysis, dry and wet density, and wet batch mixing is desired.
• Understanding of data-driven quality analysis and customer requirements is a core part of the job.

This is a management position, and as such supervises 3-4 personnel, located in the Donora and New Eagle TOR locations.
