Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. Our Ideal candidate will have commercial project experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Evaluation: Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to evaluate the scope and requirements of construction projects. Conduct site visits and assessments as needed to gather information and assess project conditions.
2. Cost Estimation: Utilize industry-standard estimating techniques and software to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects. Estimate material quantities, labor hours, equipment costs, and subcontractor expenses based on project specifications and industry standards.
3. Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids and proposals for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements. Collaborate with sales, project management, and operations teams to develop bid strategies and pricing models.
4. Vendor/Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain quotes and pricing information from construction material suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors. Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate pricing and terms to secure the best value for materials and services.
5. Client Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and contractors on construction projects. Communicate project details, answer questions, and address client concerns to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
6. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with construction projects, such as design changes, material shortages, and labor constraints. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address project risks proactively.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, proposals, and related documentation. Prepare and submit reports, certifications, and other documentation as required by clients and regulatory agencies.
