AmeriTi Manufacturing Company is Hiring an EHS Manager Near Detroit, MI

Summary:

As the EHS Manager for a powdered metal manufacturing plant specializing in Titanium powders, you'll lead the environmental, health, and safety initiatives for a diverse workforce of 150 employees encompassing both manufacturing and office personnel. In addition to managing environmental permits and ensuring regulatory compliance, you'll oversee workers' compensation claims and conduct monthly safety training on OSHA-required topics. Your role extends to facilitating new hire safety orientations and collaborating with other EHS leads within the global Kymera International team. Operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment with numerous continuous improvement projects, you'll supervise an EHS technician and play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage sites environmental permits, ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal OSHA regulations.
  • Create and conduct new hire safety orientations and monthly OSHA required training sessions.
  • Serve as the lead investigator for all site safety incidents, leading the root cause analysis and coordinating corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with site management to improve sites safety management systems.
  • Coordinate all sites workers compensations claims, ensuring proper communication with the claims department, site HR and Ops teams.
  • Maintain and updates all EHS related metrics, trending the data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with sites union stewards to ensure safety needs of production staff are met.
  • Prepare and maintain site for ISO 14001 and 45001 audits and certifications.
  • Coordinate annual OSHA required medical testing, including audiometric and pulmonary function testing.
  • Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Education, Experience and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental management, Occupational Safety, or relevant field.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • 2 years of management experience.
  • CSP or equivalent.
  • Certified CPR/AED Instructor
  • Certified Forklift Instructor
