Unit Description:

The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is one of 54 cancer centers designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute. With 16 locations throughout Michigan and Ohio and proudly a part of McLaren Health Care, Karmanos is the largest provider of cancer care and research in Michigan.

The Interventional Radiology nurse is responsible for patient care during the entire procedure process from pre procedure, during procedure, through post procedure. Oversees the initial assessment, plan of care, administers medications, and checks lab results and patient response during procedures as well as any related tasks. Provides specialized care to patients with various types of cancers. PICC line insertion a plus.

Qualifications - External

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Radiology, critical care, emergency room, or procedural experience preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse by the state of Michigan.
