Job Overview:

The Vice President of Land is responsible for overseeing all aspects of land acquisition and land development for our home building operations. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the real estate market, zoning regulations, and the land development process. The VP of Land will lead a team of professionals to identify, evaluate, and secure land parcels that align with the company’s growth objectives and ensure the successful development of these properties into viable residential communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Land Acquisition:

  • Identify and evaluate potential land acquisition opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to assess the suitability and potential of land parcels.
  • Negotiate land purchase agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, brokers, developers, and other stakeholders.

Land Development:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of land development projects, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and local authorities to secure necessary approvals and permits.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of land acquisition and development professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members in negotiating contracts, managing projects, and resolving issues.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute land acquisition and development strategies that support the company’s growth objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, zoning changes, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in land acquisition and development, preferably within the home building industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing land acquisition and development projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal land use regulations and zoning laws.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
