Position Overview Responsible for directing administrative, billing, financial and recordkeeping functions of the business office, including payroll, billing and accounting in accordance with all laws, regulations and facility guidelines.
1. Manages and directs the overall operations of the business office, in conjunction with facility guidelines and budgetary expectations.
2. Oversees and performs all billing, including Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance and Co-Insurance and follows up with claims until payment is distributed, ensuring billing is accurate and properly managed.
3. Recruits, selects and orients qualified team members for the Business Office.
4. Provides expectations and monitors performance of Business Office staff.
5. Provides overall supervision of the business office and provides guidance to the business office staff.
6. Oversees functions related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
7. Monitors payments and charges to resident accounts to ensure postings are timely and accurate.
8. Oversees month-end closing to ensure timely and accurate reporting. 9. Ensures timely and accurate recordkeeping by the business office staff.
10. Maintains a positive working relationship with vendors and contractors.
11. Works closely with auditors, fiscal intermediaries, agencies, etc. as needed.
12. Creates and maintains accurate and timely financial reports for business office.
13. Discusses financial information with residents and families in a professional manner
