Position Description:

Start your career with McAninch Corporation! We are looking for an entry-level Payroll Specialist who will be trained on all aspects of payroll processing, deduction/garnishments, and taxes. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing weekly hourly payroll for approximately 250 union employees.

Job Requirements:

  • Processes weekly payroll by noon on Wednesday for hourly union employees.
  • Manually enters timecard data from foreman and shop supervisors.
  • Processes weekly certified payroll reports.
  • Pays weekly payroll taxes and monthly union benefit premiums.
  • Prepares detailed reports such as leave balances, overtime, and headcount.
  • Tracks and deducts all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Handles the administration of the electronic timekeeping system.
  • Sets up new employees in payroll and HR systems. Maintains employee data as necessary.
  • Ensures that payroll and employee data changes are entered correctly and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience with payroll systems a plus.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and via email.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Able to meet strict deadlines and respond well to last minute changes.

Compensation:

McAninch Corporation offers a competitive salary (based on experience) and profit sharing. McAninch pays 100% of all benefits, including health/dental/vision insurance premiums, life insurance and cancer insurance. 401(k) with 3% company match and paid time off is also available.
