ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

JOB DESCRIPTION: Singleton Schreiber, LLP is seeking a junior level in-house environmental scientist to assist senior environmental specialists with environmental data gathering, analysis, and presentation. The Environmental Scientist candidate should possess impressive analytical abilities necessary for reviewing different environmental data sets, statistics, and in-depth environmental reports. The environmental scientist will be tasked with harvesting and vetting existing data sets and performing scientific literature reviews. Occasionally the position will require air, water, and soil sample collection, under the direction of the senior environmental staff.

This is a hybrid role open to candidates in the Denver, Colorado Metropolitan Area.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

$60,000-$65,000 annually

Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collecting and analyzing air, soil, and water data sets and samples to determine the level and source of environmental contamination.
  • Create tables, maps, and summaries of available environmental data.
  • Identify data gaps and needs.
  • Research potential pollution sources and affected populations.
  • Utilize USGS, EPA, state environmental agencies, and other data sources to compile environmental data sets.
  • Perform literature review on specific pollutants and human health issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Biology, Chemistry, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Geology or related field.
  • The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and able to learn new computer software systems as needed.
  • Experience using ArcGIS, R, Python or other mapping and data analysis tools would be ideal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed leader with the ability to build relationships through high levels of professionalism, confidentiality, judgment, and discretion in line with the firm's client service standards.
