TechLaw is Hiring a Field Environmental Scientist (TechLaw) Near Denver, CO

TechLaw Consultants, Inc., is a nationwide, employee-owned firm headquartered in Chantilly, VA, and has been in business since 1983. Our environmental consultants help government and commercial clients assess performance, manage risk, implement sustainable remedies, and resolve uncertainty.

We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Field Environmental Scientist with three to six years of experience to provide support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT). The Field Environmental Scientist will support the field task for environmental sampling, which includes groundwater, surface water, and other media.

Responsibilities

  • Collection of water samples from lotic and lentic environments
  • Operation of GPS and electronic data collection devices
  • Operation of Flow Tracker flow meters and other stream discharge measurement devices
  • Operation and maintenance of water quality meters
  • Collection of groundwater samples using bladder pumps, peristaltic pumps, and bailers
  • Collection and characterization of mine waste
  • Collection of biota samples (vegetation, fish, birds, invertebrates, etc.)
  • Developing Sampling and Analysis Plans/ Quality Assurance Project Plans
  • Writing Sampling Activities Reports

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology or related science field
  • A minimum of three to six years' experience in environmental analysis
  • Demonstrated excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment; flexible and quickly adaptable to changing priorities
  • Authorized to work in the U.S., with ability to obtain and maintain state and federal security clearances
  • At least 21 years of age, with a valid driver's license and safe driving record and ability to drive long distances in company provided vehicle
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time
