WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our downtown Denver office, you will serve as a subject matter expert for all aspects of Gates Corporation's leave of absence (STD, LOA, FMLA, LTD, etc.) policies and cases in partnership with our leave of absence third-party administrator.


Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee/management and third-party administrator inquiries regarding leaves.
  • Administer leave of absences and work accommodations which would include tracking, coordinating with payroll, and staying aware of new FMLA related legislation, including but not limited to Colorado's FAMLI Act.
  • Coordinate FMLA and related leaves will include communicating with the employees during their initial request, and clarifying/authenticating when needed, designating the leave, and managing the return-to-work process
  • Identify and develop continuous improvement solutions that create efficiency and improve the employee experience.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of leaves and related information.
  • Preserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Seek advice to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, etc. as applicable
  • Conduct monthly audits, process monthly invoices and process standard file feeds to third parties as required.
  • Responsible for all leave related reporting requests
  • As Gates' third party leave administrator is also our Life and AD&D provider, this role is also responsible for processing death claims and answering questions regarding these policies.
  • Assist the Benefits team during Open Enrollment season as needed.
  • Update and maintain employee records in Oracle
  • Other Duties as Assigned

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 1-3 years related experience with human resources/benefits program administration
  • Excellent analytical skills employing tools such as Excel to audit and manage data
  • Adept at building effective and collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Able to think proactively, identify problems and analyze solutions, and exhibit a high level of self-initiative
  • Collaborative team player with a strong customer service orientation to serve internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, specifically programs like Oracle and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • Full-Time
