Children's Dental Care of Delray is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Delray Beach, FL

Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take digital dental x-rays, polishing children's teeth
- Prepare and maintain dental materials, such as cements and impression materials
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Keep accurate patient records and maintain confidentiality
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Perform administrative tasks, such as billing and insurance claims processing

Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry
- Knowledge of human anatomy relevant to dental procedures
- Familiarity with medical records systems and electronic health records (Eaglesoft)
- Ability to assist the dentist during various procedures, including fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment
- Competency in patient assessment, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history
- Understanding of medical coding for accurate billing and insurance claims submission
- Adherence to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases

As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the dentist in providing quality dental care to patients. Your skills in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical records management, assisting during procedures, aseptic technique, patient assessment, medical documentation, medical coding, and infection control will contribute to the smooth operation of the dental office.

Expected hours: 35 per week
