Position Title: Director of Development
Reports to: Head of School

DCS is a K-12 traditional school partnering with parents to bring an academically excellent education with a biblical worldview. Job Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing DCS's comprehensive fundraising program to enhance the mission and vision of the school. This includes major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns. This position also oversees alumni relations with DCS graduates.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement plans and programs for cultivation of new and existing relationships over a broad stakeholder base for the involvement of annual giving, capital campaigns, and projects.
Provide stewardship counseling and encouragement in donor philanthropy
Identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects, this will mean some travel and off site work
Create and implement a strategic fundraising plan for DCS
Develop and implement a communication plan of activities that support the relationship between DCS and all donors.
Organize and maintain relationships with alumni to foster information and fundraising opportunities.

Proclaim and maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ
Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
Be a member of a local church with like faith of Delaware Bible Church
Faithfully uphold DCS in prayer
Demonstrate behavior aligned with DCS's mission, vision, core values and handbooks
Skill Position Requirements:
Familiar with Biblical-stewardship approach to fundraising
Knowledge of major gift fundraising and planned giving
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Goal driven
Good listening skills
Education Positions Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience
Familiar with alumni/donor database applications
Experience with private education
Working Position Requirements:
Typically office environment
Travel may be required
Extended work hours may be needed
