Our customers include Burlington, Home Goods, Kohl’s, Target, TJ Maxx/Marshall’s and Walmart. Our product offering covers a variety of home categories ranging from Bath, Storage and Organization to Home Décor.

Job Description

Assist Product Development Manager and cross-functional team to drive the product development process by working with US-based retail customers and communicating with overseas sales, industrial engineering, production and design teams. The role of the Associate Product Manager is to manage the flow of communication, costing and sampling with overseas factories and agents to build an assortment that meets the needs of our retail accounts.

Responsibilities

· Work with cross-functional team (sales, product development, design) to define target markets, price points and product formats for new product initiatives

· Work closely with cross-functional team to ensure new product innovation are compatible with and capitalize on manufacturing capabilities and strengths

· Assist Creative Director, Director of National Accounts and Product Development Manager with creation of marketing and presentation materials for workshop and line reviews

· Source and develop new product in bath, storage and organization and home décor categories for off-price retail channels

· Manage daily communication with overseas factories and agents regarding design and development of new programs

· Utilize Power Point or In Design as visual tools to communicate key specification or design attributes with overseas engineering and production teams

· Follow up and monitor all issues relating to sampling, sample revisions, costs and negotiations during the line review process

· Negotiate to meet cost and margin targets without compromising production quality or aesthetics

· Analyze factory cost and propose selling price to product and sales team by evaluating historical data and market research information compiled in Excel

· Assist sales team with quote creation and submission across various retail platforms

· Collaborate with Production | Sourcing Manager to monitor and review all prototypes and final samples to ensure faithful execution to spec

· Communicate product and testing requirements and resolve project roadblocks

Requirements

· 2-3 years experience in sourcing or product development role in a consumer goods environment, preferably in home décor, gift or housewares categories and particularly with off-price retail channel

· Familiarity with product costing and pricing structures in an import, wholesale and/or retail environment

· Must be driven and self-motivated

· Ability to quickly develop extensive understanding of new product types, markets and manufacturing technologies

· Ability to drive projects forward in a collaborative environment, including working with cross-functional teams and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds

· Experience working directly with overseas manufacturers

· High level of technical aptitude, including previous experience using remote collaboration tools and ability to learn new technologies quickly

· Must be skilled in Microsoft Office,

· Some travel to trade shows, customer meetings and manufacturing sites as career progresses

· Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
