Job Title: Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and maintain various financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liabilities.

- Facilitate the preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

- Prepare journal entries with required supporting documentation and analysis for general ledger postings.

- Complete balance sheet account reconciliations by reporting deadlines to support timely preparation of financial statements.

- Conduct research on outstanding or unexplained items, identifying and explaining variances on the Financial Statements.

- Collect, review, and code accounts payable documentation, ensuring all invoices are recorded timely and accurately.

- Manage vendor invoice approval process, escalating when necessary to meet processing timelines.

- Prepare weekly check runs, match invoices, obtain required signatures, and distribute accordingly.

- Respond to vendor information requests, gather necessary account information and documents, and assist with audits.

- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures and complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.

- Provide direct support on various special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

- 3 years of related work experience.

- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

- Proficient with Excel and a strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite or similar accounting software.

- Ability to work with mathematical concepts.

- Ability to prepare tax reports.
