Position Summary:
Supervise a medium to large group of employees involved in plant production operations. Work is generally of a technical nature with the ability to make decisions within the limits of general standards and practices. Some direct guidance received from supervisor.
- Facilitates excellent environmental, health and safety performance
- Supervise personnel with safety as the number one priority
- Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment
- Meets production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements
- Complies with the terms of local labor agreements
- Implements divisional and corporate policies
- Implements safety and good housekeeping standards
- Frequent contact with others outside the work group
- Monitor and approve payroll time and attendance
- Keeps management informed of developments as they occur
- Maintains department records
- Maintains corporate and unit management control systems
- Learn and maintain a good working knowledge of plant process
- Responsible for hourly employee safety training and implementation of departmental site safety plan
- Record production into SAP
- Maintain inventory and order operational supplies
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years manufacturing supervisory experience required
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Understanding of basic plant technology, mathematical aptitude and knowledge of quality control procedures
- Knowledge of scheduling and other management systems
- Demonstrated analytical ability with strong problem solving skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others and achieve productivity target through motivating employees
- Basic computer skills including SAP, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Requires the ability to sit, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis
- Flexible schedule, back shifts, and every 4th weekend required
