GMC Danvers is Hiring an Assistant Parts Manager Near Danvers, MA

GMC Danvers is looking for an experienced Assistant Parts Manager to add to our growing dealership. This individual must have 2 years of parts counter experience at a car dealership.

Responsibilities

  • Assist all customers (retail and internal) in selecting required parts
  • Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials
  • Manage phone calls, provide price quotes and necessary information
  • Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and keep the computer system up to date
  • Notify customers when ordered parts have arrived and when they will be delivered
  • Responsible for payment transactions and record keeping for all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts
  • Replenish assigned inventory daily and set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
  • Working with the service department, collision repair and wholesale account representatives to ensure inventory is available when needed
  • Participate in training programs to keep current on new products and product updates
  • Assist in parts delivery as needed

Qualifications

  • 2 years of parts counter experience in a dealership environment
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Prior experience managing a team or in a supervisory capacity
  • A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service
  • Basic catalog and phone skills
  • Excellent communication skills between customers, dispatch, and employees
  • Detail oriented, teamwork driven, and organized
  • Ability to work well in a process driven environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves with the use of a ladder when necessary
