Title- Cable Technician/ Level I Technicians/ Level II Technicians
Locations- Fort Worth/ Dallas, Austin, San Antonio in TX
Duration- Long Term
Skill Required.
Level I Technicians: DOE 6 to 18 Months of experience. Familiar with all EIA and TIA Standards. Capable of identifying, pulling, labeling, dressing, terminating, and testing (dummy end) Cat 3, 5e, 6, and 6a communications cabling. Installing support structures and terminating workstation outlets (110 and Panduit). These technicians will potentially have some exposure to closet terminations, dressing, and multi-pair terminations. Experience in other fields including security, fire alarm, fiber optics, nurse call, CCTV or audiovisual installations, and terminations. Familiar with reading blueprints, possess all basic hand tools, PPE, and specialty tools.
Level II Technicians: DOE 1 to 5 Years of experience. Familiar with all EIA/TIA & ANSI Standards. Capable of performing all the abovementioned tasks in addition to reading blueprints, identifying, pulling, and labeling Cat 3, 5e, and 6 cables, and closet terminations (110, 66 block, Bix, and Krone Hardware). Exposure to fiber terminations (Specific experience will vary from one person to the next), low-level and high-level testing and documentation, and multi-pair/strand terminations experience on both copper and fiber. Potential experience leading 3-10 other technicians on sight, documenting test results, troubleshooting, identifying cable paths, and some abilities to perform site surveys.
