CHILDREN’S MINISTRY ASSISTANT

The Children’s Ministry Assistant would be responsible for supporting the Children’s Director in the evening programming. Work with children from infants through 13 years old to help facilitate learning with fun and exciting programs that help children grow in their faith. The purpose is to serve the families of Exodus Ministries, while working with volunteers, to love and lead our children well, while shepherding their hearts and minds in the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with volunteers to support the Children’s Ministry (CM) classes and events. Works cooperatively with all staff and volunteers.
• Provides a warm, friendly learning environment for children and families.
• Uses appropriate child development knowledge to best meet the needs of Exodus Ministries children in curriculum selection, child discipline, classroom grouping, etc.
• Communicates the needs of the children’s program to volunteers as appropriate.
• Assist the Director of Children’s Ministry with setting-up and stocking classrooms with necessary supplies.
• Assist with sanitation and safety protocols for Children’s Ministry.
• Execute the vision and provide leadership for the volunteers of the children’s ministry program
• Work with Children’s Ministry team to provide a biblically sound and vibrant children’s program
• Assist in utilizing the spiritual gifts of the volunteers

FAITH DEVELOPMENT/FELLOWSHIP EVENTS

• Provide help for family nights and the other special events when available (i.e. Park night, Swim and Fall festivals, etc.)
• Encourage, develop and coordinate projects for volunteers as time permits and as directed by the Children’s Ministry Director.
• Take part in Holiday activities and events when available.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Organizational skills (self-starter, detail-oriented, multi-tasking, and can delegate)
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, create PowerPoint presentations, manage an Excel worksheet.

• Good inter-personal skills with both children and adults
• High energy, enthusiasm, and creativity
• Warm, caring and demonstrates a willingness to know and love the families at Exodus Ministries
• A great passion for God’s children

TIME COMMITMENT:

20 hours a week

Monday -Thursday (4:30pm – 8:30pm)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
