Position Summary

DRS Network & Imaging Systems in Cypress, CA is part of the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems Group of Leonardo DRS and has over 30 years of experience in designing and developing electro-optical/infrared systems for surveillance and targeting applications. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the company in the development of strategic space and weather systems.

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • 5 years'experienceworking in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in mixed-signal and analog circuit analysis and design
  • Ability to solve problems at circuit and system levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to provide and receive constructive criticism
  • Demonstrated ability to execute large group and customer presentations
  • Proven experience completing mixed-signal and analog designs, using ICs such as Op-Amps, ADC, DAC, LDO, switching regulators, etc.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance is required
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • In this role, you will be responsible for the definition, architecture, design, implementation, and integration of mixed signal and/or analog circuits in high-reliability electronics
  • Develop low noise analog circuits and quiet power supplies for imaging sensors
  • Schematic capture and supervise PCB layout (preferably Cadence Allegro)
  • Circuit level and board level simulations to verify functionality and performance goals
  • Hardware debugging and integration using standard test equipment including oscilloscope, power supply, multi-meter, etc.
  • Create documentations such as board specifications, user guides, test reports, and design review presentations
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team as well as independently
  • Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Working Conditions

Normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and local travel.

The pay scale for this position is $98,288/year - $152,593/year. The pay scale information is a general guideline only. Several factors can influence the pay scale for a position including but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
