Job Description :

As a High School Counselor at Falls Lake Academy, you will play a vital role in supporting the holistic development of our students.

You will provide comprehensive counseling services to assist students in overcoming personal challenges, navigating academic pathways, and preparing for post-secondary education and career opportunities.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, personal, and social-emotional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement intervention strategies for students experiencing academic or behavioral difficulties.
• Assist students in exploring career options, setting goals, and planning for post-secondary education or vocational training.
• Provide guidance and support to students during the college application and decision-making process, including assistance with college essays, applications, and financial aid.
• Coordinate standardized testing programs, including SAT, ACT, and AP exams, and provide guidance on test preparation strategies.
• Develop and deliver workshops and presentations on topics such as study skills, time management, stress management, and conflict resolution.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including academic transcripts, counseling notes, and college applications.

Qualifications :

• Master's degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure or certification as a school counselor.
• Previous experience working as a school counselor or in a related counseling role is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Familiarity with college admissions processes, standardized testing requirements, and financial aid options.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the ability to support students from diverse backgrounds and identities.
