Position Job Title: Secretary to the Principal
Salary Classification: Level G
Position Supervision: Principal
General Statement of Position’s Purpose: To demonstrate a caring and understanding relationship with parents and students; to have a positive working relationship with principal and staff; to maintain a high level of confidentiality; to assure the smooth and efficient operation of a school office.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Training:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
· Three years’ experience in an office work environment.
· Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents, and children.
Demonstrated Knowledge/Proficiency of Equipment, Tools, Materials and Skills:
· Demonstrated keyboarding skills
· Demonstrated proficiency of use and training of educational/financial software
· Proficiency with general office equipment
· Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Professional
Principal Duties:
· Serves as a liaison for school and community relations.
· Oversees office practices.
· Keeps individual and school calendars as required.
· Maintains both general and confidential files.
· Coordinates large mailings.
· Manages use of telephone and other communication systems.
· Provides punctual and efficient routing of messages and work orders.
· Maintains general knowledge of all positions in office and provides backup as necessary.
· Purchases and maintains supplies inventory for office and teachers.
· Prepares requisitions and maintains school level accounts.

· Schedules teacher observations for the Administrative Team
· Maintains High School Website
· Supports the principal during special events as needed
· Graduation
· Prepares daily school announcements
· Organizes, staff directory, mailroom, and staff lists

· Interacts primarily with staff and general public.

· Must plan two to twelve weeks in advance.
