DescriptionKimberly Casey with Robert Half is seeking a degreed Staff Accountant for a client in Corvallis, OR. This position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and account reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close.
Your responsibilities in this role
  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives
  • In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases
  • Great attention to detail
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP a plus as they will be converting to this ERP soon)
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
  • Deep understanding of month end closings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
  • Account reconciliation experience
  • Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
