Position Summary :
Under the leadership of the department Manager, Physician Services, the Medical Assistant isan active member of the Physician Services team that collects data and provides comfort measures and care to patients.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing care that is appropriate for the patient’s developmental age and is culturally sensitive.
The Medical Assistant formulates an appropriate plan for care and analyzes the effectiveness of interventions while effectively interacting with patients, families other medical office staff members.
The Medical Assistant maintains standards of professional nursing.
Basic Qualifications :
Education :
Requires a high school diploma with an emphasis in Office Occupations and Administrative Skills or a GED state certification.
A business office school, Medical Assistant program or Associate’s degrees is preferred.
Experience :
Requires up to one year of work-related on-the-job experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Licensure, Registrations & Certifications :
A Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Requires a current certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS). (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Performs all associated duties, responsibilities and tasks.
