THE ROLE:
The Fabrication Manager’s primary function will be to establish a build approach and to support the creation, approval, and distribution of technical drawings for all projects. This role will also support other front-end processes such as attending site surveys and consulting on builds that require complex solutions. This position will report to the Director of Fabrication.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Establishing build approach and material/finish selection for all projects.
- Advising Drafting and Project Management through the creation of technical drawings.
- Establishing and adhering to drawings approval process.
- Reviewing all technical drawings, advising on revisions, and providing (internal) approvals.
- Providing material and hardware specifications to be included in drawings.
- Assisting the Director of Fabrication in engineering for approval by outside engineers.
- Issuing and distributing technical drawings to appropriate Fabrication Departments.
- Supporting the procurement of building materials by specifying material types and quantities.
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to Fabrication Teams in active builds.
- Ensuring quality standards are safely and efficiently met to fulfill project requirements and deadlines.
- Assisting the Director of Fabrication in reviewing budgets and performing site surveys.
- Assisting Drafting, Project Management, and Design in the development of Build Lists and Project Timelines.
- Overseeing the creation of material and finish samples for internal and client needs.
