Ø Lead and mentor Process Efficiency Improvement Projects in transactional and operational processes that support the Business Systems and Strategy
Ø Translate objectives into prioritized & actionable plans at a work-stream level and utilize effective project management, tracking and reporting skills for the Business Units.
Ø Identify innovation/growth/improvement opportunities on an ongoing basis that support the Business Strategy
Ø Drive the ‘thinking and application’ of Lean and PDCA (Plan; Do; Check; Act) as an everyday continuous improvement approach in conjunction with the development of work standards.
Ø Champion the development and support of management systems to ensure continued focus on improvement .
Ø Support the CI Global Teams to execute innovation strategies, Blueprinting and Functional support.
Ø Be flexible to travel globally to execute the assigned activities.
Ø Lead process workshops to identify and document existing business work processes, propose innovations and enhancements that address gaps to improve productivity and efficiency.
Ø Determine “As Is” state for formal and informal work processes.
Ø Identify key interfaces between functions and work processes.
Ø Identify “pain points” in existing processes and subsequent opportunities for improvement.
Ø Provide framework for process owners to prioritize improvements and establish plans and goals.
Ø Create pathways to improvement.
Ø Understand when to apply PDCA (Plan; Do; Check; Act) as an everyday continuous improvement approach vs in depth, data driven DMADV/DMAIC projects.
Ø Execute Productivity, Process/System and Performance improvement projects from Idea generation, to RTA, to Project execution and closure; lead projects him/herself (based on resource availability and complexity)
Ø Utilize Project planning techniques such as the Step to Milestones approach, Toll gate reviews, Stage Gate reviews etc. within the context of the local Management Control and Reporting system and benefit process tracking and project tracking systems.
Ø Lead change management and partner with key Process and/or Functional stakeholders and leaders to understand and adopt process improvements.
Ø Develop materials and deliver workshops to support driving the organization into a process-oriented organization which includes the behavioral change needed – breaking out of silo thinking.
Ø Ensure sustainability of implemented Process Improvements and adherence to standards by working closely with the Organization and CI Team
Ø Drive for resolution of problems within the team environment utilizing the complete CI toolset. Have a strong focus on quality of approach being taken to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v BS Degree with 10 years industry experience
v Experienced in applying the 6 Sigma toolset – Lean and DMAIC
v Strong knowledge of Lean principles is preferred.
v Knowledge of Organization change and Transformation Efforts
v A strong desire to coach and to participate in the growth of others.
v Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence others to action. In other words, good consulting / coaching skills
v Proficient in Project Management, Change Management, and Process Improvement methods.
v Good written and verbal communication abilities.
v Presentation skills such as those used in conducting stand-up training programs.
v Ability to effectively work and lead local natural work teams.
v Strong Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
v Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is a plus.
v SCRUM and /or AGILE methodology skills are a plus.
v 25% of business travel if based in Columbus - Up to 50% business travel if employed remotely.
v Manufacturing Industry experience - Chemical Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
