Flash Global is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Specialist Near Columbus, OH

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is a continuous process analyst, dedicated to identifying, developing and executing operational improvement projects within the Flash Global field network and warehouse operations. This role is project-based, with key deliverables that vary, specific to each project. This position is on site in Columbus, OH and works both with onsite teams and cross-functional teams distributed across various global locations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Process Analysis:
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement:
  • Use your interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to understand current workflows. Challenge current norms and offer game-changing recommendations.
  • Enable our ability to scale throughput for a 3x volume increase over next 24 months.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Use LEAN and Quality principles to design and document process, work instructions, and training materials. 
  • Test processes for effectiveness, perform time studies, and build scalable processes for volume increases in future
  • Operational Training Programs.
  • Process design based on customer requirements.
  • Ensure consistency across operations to optimize current business systems.
  • Coordinate temporary projects or additional programs as required by the changing needs of our clients, around material handling, order processing of high value electrical components and medical equipment. Support process design efforts as we expand the portfolio of service we offer to our customers, as their needs evolve.
  • Combine technical acumen with keen business savvy, fostering innovation, flexibility of resources.
  • Implementation Support
  • Create new customer implementation Check List
  • Align contractual needs with required system set-ups.
  • Validate (or create) work instructions for additional requests.
  • Participate in planning meetings and coordinate logistics for the initial load up.
  • Events Management (Customer Complaints):
  • Root cause analysis and corrective actions 
  • Translate findings into actionable activities to benefit all customers.
  • Inventory Control / Quality Assurance:

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Detail oriented yet capable of understanding the “big picture”
    • Analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Strong hands-on approach
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Flexibility comfortable multi-tasking
    • Autonomous but humble. Comfortable asking for help / clarity / prioritization
    • Ability to work individually (proactively) and collaborate in teams
    • Ability to adjust tone & approach that adapt to different situations
    • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office products (Outlook, Excel (Advanced), Word, Project, PowerPoint)
    • Working knowledge or certification in LEAN
    • Proficiency with Smartsheet and PowerBI preferred

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, Administration, or equivalent degree program
    • 3-5 years related experience
    • Demonstrated work experience in process improvement in a manufacturing or service environment
