JOB TITLE: POWER BI DEVELOPER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION (Must be able to commute to Columbia, SC)The role of the Power BI Developer (Junior/Mid-Level) is critical in unlocking the power of our healthcare data by building user-friendly and informative reports and dashboards. This position requires a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, proficiency in Power BI, and the ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand data sources, data models, and business requirements.
  • Report Development: Develop and maintain complex Power BI reports and dashboards using DAX formulas and data modeling techniques.
  • Data Cleaning: Clean and transform data using SQL queries to ensure data accuracy and usability for reporting.
  • Data Visualization: Implement best practices for data visualization to create clear, informative, and visually appealing reports.
  • Testing and Validation: Perform thorough testing and data validation to maintain report integrity and accuracy.
  • Performance Optimization: Investigate and optimize report performance for improved user experience.
  • Documentation: Document reports and data models for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Create ad-hoc reports to fulfill specific user requests for data insights.
  • Administrative Functions: Perform general administrative tasks and support other staff as needed.
  • Leverage technology platforms to enhance patient care and staff productivity.
  • Participate in coaching calls.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required, in the sole discretion of the Company.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • A minimum year of strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational databases (SQL Server).
  • Experience with querying data using SQL to extract and clean data for reports; required.
  • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, including data modeling, DAX formula creation, and report design; required.
  • Solid understanding of best practices for building user-friendly and visually appealing BI dashboards and reports; required.
  • Experience with data validation and testing procedures to ensure data accuracy and report integrity; required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with data engineers and stakeholders to understand data needs; required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences; required.
  • Experience with documenting reports and data models for future reference; required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factor, Azure Synapse); preferred.
  • Experience with processing flat files and SFTP data sources; preferred.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques in Power BI; preferred.
  • Experience creating and maintaining ad-hoc reports for specific user requests, and other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) (a plus); preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Team player with ability to manage multiple responsibilities and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and travel between offices, facilities, etc. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order.
