SUMMARY:

The Registered Professional Land Surveyor is responsible for surveying and mapping in GPS and conventional surveying methods using Laser scanning, GPS Control, Topographic, and GIS. A broad understanding of land records is preferred. Survey projects may include Global Positioning Satellite and geodetic/cadastral surveys, ground-based LiDAR, mobile ground-based LiDAR, traditional surveying, mapping, mining, and civil engineering-related activities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

• Responsible for oversight and review of survey/mapping needs using GPS, traditional survey methods, laser-scanning, topographic, GIS, and CAD/Microstation Geopak.
• Perform survey work according to technical specifications and ensure contract work is being performed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Prepare and submit reports to management and clients as required.
• Prepare and execute quality control reviews, safety and quality assurance procedures.
• Provides assistance with technical advice, resolve issues, train, and mentor survey technicians.
• Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently.
• Maintain professional licensure, minimum one state - multi-state preferred.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Not applicable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) or Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM).

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant survey field or equivalent experience meeting state PLS licensure requirements.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years surveying field experience or combination of land records management and/or GIS.
• Proficiency in GIS and surveying software.

Annual Salary Range $75,000 to $100,000
