Position Details
Our ideal Behavior Support Specialist candidatewill have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on people's lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. Spend your day in a variety of settings makinga difference in the lives of the people we serve.Our work is person-centered, and we provide reliable care while supporting the person served in accomplishing their goals.
We work to enhance independence by supportingour clients with behavior support plan implementationand supervision conducted by a Licensed and Certified Behavior Analyst.We work tofoster a truesense of growth with the individual, by guiding them to navigate daily living activities such as housekeeping, laundry and other activities of daily living.You will support the person served by aiding in independent living skill acquisition and community engagement in their community as well as exploring work possibilities or opportunities they choose while maintaining adherence to the behavior support plan.
You will model and demonstrate the BSP for the family and person served.The Behavior Support Specialist works with and adheres to the safety and welfare of all consumers with mental and behavioral health diagnoses in their residential programs while carrying out direct care responsibilities and participates in and follows the treatment planning process.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Five years of experience in IDD AND mental health (or willing to complete a training)- with High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates degree in a related human service field and 3 years' experience in IDD OR mental health.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related human service field and 1 year of experience in IDD or mental Health.
