Principle Responsibilities
Material management multitasking: coordinate/facilitate the accurate delivery/flow of material from suppliers to production. Must be able to
identify and reposition parts and materials from location to location. Knowledge of procurement procedure and excellent organizational skills are
required. Requires the ability to analyze stock levels and parts usage to identify and remedy shortages by requisitioning parts and materials.
Standard Duties
Follow-up and track purchase orders to verify vendors comply with delivery dates. Contact vendors for improved delivery times. Serve as contact
for material requests after order placement. Coordinate return of materials to vendors or customers. Interface with receiving area for recording of
material receipt. Collect and kit materials for production. Maintain files of received Customer Furnished Materials or Equipment (CFM/E).
Maintain inventory counts and issuance of CFM/E.
Requirements
Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel, including the ability to develop spreadsheets. Must be able to learn how to use company's Enterprise
Resource Planning database. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in logistics or material handling required.
Able to operate a forklift and read a tape measure.
Capabilities
Knowledge of material handling, scheduling, and invoice reconciliation. Math competency, detail-oriented, ability to organize and attend to
multiple activities simultaneously and/or in sequence, capable of maintaining confidentiality. Excellent communication skills, ability to speak
clearly, attention to detail, ability to establish good rapport with department managers, staff, vendors, and others.
Physical Requirements
Sitting for extended periods. Bending. Lifting up to 50 pounds. Capable of striking keys on computer or typewriter keyboard. Able to talk and
hear.
Equipment to be Used
Computer, calculator, usual office equipment, forklift and tape measure
