The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing direct medical care to ambulatory patients at the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Big Cypress and Immokalee health clinics in accordance with a prescribed schedule, with the majority of the time spent at Big Cypress. Diagnoses diseases, conditions and illnesses; prescribes the appropriate type of medications, vaccinations, therapies and treatments. Counsels, guides and educates patients, parents or consented guardians. Refers patients requiring specialized care to appropriate facilities and/or practitioners. The incumbent will serve as a resource and provide consultation to allied programs upon request. Investigates and studies trends in disease and/or injuries that adversely impact the well-being of the patient population. Implements appropriate changes and/or programs to further benefit the patient population. The individual will serve as Medical Consultant to the Health Department’s mid-level practitioners and other physicians.

Medical Doctor’s Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy’s (D.O.) Degree from an accredited medical school is required. The incumbent must possess a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida, and a Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics or Medical-Pediatrics. A minimum of three (3) to (5) years of postgraduate experience in an ambulatory, acute care or private practice is preferred.
